A new quilt for Em's new room

My daughter and Em recently moved 2 1/2 hours north of here, and even though I was sad to see them move, they aren't that far away and they are in such a gorgeous area.  Emily has wanted a pink room for a long time and so there were many shades of pink considered for her room.

I know that lighter is usually better, because when walls are painted, the color always appears much more intense than it looks on a small paint swatch.  Well, Em loves pink, but not just any pink...she like hot pinky purple.  The "painting crew" went to work and her room was all painted and ready for her furniture before the move happened.

Wow!  Party Pink!

The week before the move, her quilt was finished being quilted and I hopped on sewing on the binding to get it done.

I also decided she needed some hot pink pillow cases with white hearts and polka dots to go with the quilt, but I can't find a close up picture of them (?).

Do you remember the Paisley Party quilt finish from last year?  Well, that quilt was made for Em's bed at my house; however, she loved that quilt so much and asked me if she could take it with her for her new room.  Unfortunately, it's a twin and she has a full size bed.  Well, it just so happened that I had tons of the fabrics used in the Paisley Party quilt left over, and you guessed it...there was enough left to make a full size quilt, but not the same pattern.

I decided to make her quilt using the Caddy Corners pattern (Laps from Fats), and here it is in it's new home.  She is very happy with her new Party Pink world and her new quilt :)

It is backed in Kona Bubble Gum Pink and bound in Kona Purple.  The quilting was done in butterflies and flowers.  Em's fascination with ladybugs has passed and now it's all about butterflies.

This is her view of the intracoastal waterway (I guess I should have pulled up the blinds, lol).

Hope you all are having a great weekend!
